AIAHow do you choose the right door closer and stay compliant with ADA guidelines?
International Door Closers, Inc. (IDC) has the answer! IDC has an AIA/CES approved (1) hour class explaining state of the art door closers, ADA compliance and the proper application of door closers. The presentation includes hands-on, cut-a-way door closers showing the internal mechanism and explaining the door closer grading process. The IDC team will come to your facility and present this program. A minimum of 6 participants are required for a facility visit and there is no cost to the firm. We also are in the process of setting class dates in a city near you, again at no cost to you or your firm. This class will count for (1) LU toward the annual requirement for AIA members. All participants (AIA members and non- members) will receive a certificate of class completion.

Series 5000International Door Closers IDC 5000 Series Exit Devices meet the Life and Fire Safety Codes as prescribed by UL and ANSI / BHMA 156.3 standards. These durable devices are designed for both standard and commercial applications. The 5000 Series were tested and approved by Underwriters Laboratories (UL, USA and ULC, Canada) and listed to comply with UL 10C, and Uniform Building Code Standard 7-2, “Fire Test of Door Assemblies” (1997).

  • All devices are non-handed design
  • Auxiliary guarded latch deadlocks latch bolt automtically locks when the door is closed
  • High shock-resistant latching mechanical design or protection from vandalism
  • All inside components are made of high rust-resistant alloy or heavy electroplated steel
  • Baked powder coating, electroplated or architectual base finishes are used on all exposed surfaces

SERIES 8000 - Exit Devices - Heavy Duty Models - Grade 1

Series 8000IDC 8000 Series Exit Devices are heavy duty and designed for heavy traffic applications. The devices are Underwriters Laboratory (UL, USA and ULC, Canada) listed for Panic Exit Hardware or Fire Exit Hardware, and are certified to ANSI A156.3-2001 Grade 1.

Electro-Magnetic Door Holders

Electro-Magnetic Door HoldersThe 2000 Series Electro-magnetic Door Holders is Tri-Voltage . Each model (except 2500) can be wired 12V DC, 24V AC/DC or 120V AC. Units can be used on fire/smoke barrier doors held open until released by a remote switching device. They can also be used to just hold a door open. The armature is thru-bolted to the door for security and can be provided with any projection required. When ordering indicate, model, total projection, finish and door thickness if other than 1-3/4”.

Continuous Gear Hinges

Stainless Steel Continuous HingesIDC Continuous Gear Hinges are all heavy duty. All hinges have double the number of bearings of standard duty hinges and are pinless. There are no accessible screws, bolts or pins when the door is closed. IDC gear hinges are surface applied to the frame and door. No machining is required. Whether surface mount or concealed, the IDC continuous gear hinges eliminate the gap between the door and frame, and provide a weatherproof, tamper-proof barrier. The IDC gear hinge is templated and the hole pattern is the same from hinge to hinge. All units (except A130) are UL Listed.
